About Learning Disability

Gary Bourlet says:

“Learning disability is quite a wide issue. To me it’s hard learning words that are complicated. And then there’s social problems. For me when I was unemployed, I could not fill in forms or job applications. For others it is learning about life skills.

People with mild learning disabilities and people with profound learning disabilities and all those people need different types of support. Everyone needs support but they all need different types of support.

Some people say learning disability, some say learning difficulty and some say intellectual disability.

We say learning disability because learning difficulty is usually for dyslexia.”
